Suncoast stone can provide all your wall cladding needs, we have a high capacity for wall cladding available in custom colors and textures to match your exterior decor and color scheme.

We can provide regular flat work at normal thickness of 1″ in regular concrete, and as thin as 5/8 inch.

Our standard installation method for flat pieces is to use steel banding for initial hold and safety, and thinset applied to the wall. We recommend that the substrate be sealed against weather.

Sizes vary and can be any size.

Installation & sizes

The size of the flat veneers have and effect on the thickness and installation method. For example, a very large size like 3 foot x 4 foot panels have to be made thicker so that they will not break.
If straps are to be installed into the rear of our panels, then the minimum thickness we do is 1.25 inches thick.

If you want thinner, then we can manufacture them without straps.

There are 3 common methods of installation. Our preferred method is with straps manufactured into the rear of the panels, the other methods are 2. pinning , 3. mastic only.

Using straps – The main affixing is with mastic or adhesive, but the straps offer a second safety factor, and make installation simpler.

Using pins – a hole is drilled through the panel and into the wall, and a stainless pin is hammered into the wall holding the panel in place while the mastic dries. These pins offer a secondary safety feature.

Using mastic only is not suggested above ground level, as there is no safety feature if the mastic fails for some reason. If the panels are only on ground level, and no safety feature is needed, then you may consider using only mastic as the affixing method.
