These terracotta clay attic gable vents are common in Spanish style housing. They were used as a traditional venting solution for Spanish style houses to vent the attic space. We have designed this particular piece to be used as a decorative gable vent only.
Our terracotta vents are made of real vitrified clay and are made of the same material as the original, functional, vent tubes.

These vents are available in 3 sizes, 4″ and 6″ and 12″ lengths.
Length approximately (within 1/4 inch)
These are flat on each side.

Description

width=Our terra-cotta attic gable vents are now made of real vitrified clay as were the original Spanish style gable attic vents

Terracotta clay attic gable vent tubes.
The outside diameter is 5 and 1/8 inches
Inside diameter is 4 inches.
Thickness is 1/2 inch.

These attic gable vents come in 3 sizes, 4 inch and 6 inch and 12 inch lengths.
The longer sizes could possibly be used for actual clay attic vents depending on the thickness of your wall, but generally this product is attached externally to the wall as a faux gable vent. These vents are designed to be used as a decorative only item.

Installation of terracotta vent tubes.

Originally these were installed embedded into the wall, however most gable vent tubes are now added as decoration to the outside of an existing wall.

The easiest way is to attach the gable vents with a high quality building adhesive (like “PL Premium”)

Remove any paint where glue will adhere to wall.

Pre drill pilot hole in the wall for tapcon screws , and pre-drill a hole in a scrap of wood.

Mask off any areas if needed. Adhesive will not adhere as well to paint as it will to masonry or stucco, we recommend that the paint be removed wherever the glue is applied.
Apply PL premium glue to the rear face of the vent tubes (if using PL Premium, make wall and clay slightly damp for better adhesion).
Insert long tapcon screw into scrap of wood, and use it as a bracket to hold vent to wall while the glue dries.
Remove screw and wood the next day.
